Fallen Leaves...Lost Gold
Just as summer is long gone from the mountains so are the leaves of gold. It was 39 degrees today on the South Loop Trail...the smell of wood smoke along with a bite in the air...the tourists were gone as well as the hikers headed up and down to pay their respects to Mt Charleston. Fall has settled in to the Springs.

Teaming up for Gold Butte
Friends of Nevada Wilderness went out to Gold Butte for National Public Lands Day to support the Friends of Gold Butte in their good work to restore and protect the beautiful landscape and cultural resources of Gold Butte for present and future generations. Special thanks to all the volunteers from both groups who worked so hard in the hot sun to make a difference for the Wild.

Late Summer on the North Loop Trail
I love the North Loop Trail. It never seems as crowded as going up the South Loop and the views of Mt Charleston seem just a bit more majestic. Here's a few that I never got around to posting until now; it was a cool summer day it look and felt like fall. I just couldn't capture the dancing light of Mummy the way I wanted...maybe the old man was playing with me.
