Muddy Mountains Wilderness
For the Springs
One of the purpose's of this blog is to show you the Wild beauty and the tough challenges facing the Spring Mountains. I hope my images and my posts will inspire you to get involved. Every day folks from Las Vegas and the surrounding area head up to the mountains to escape the heat of the valley,to play in the snow, or just to spend a little bit of time enjoying the peace and quiet that only nature can bring. We are literally loving the mountains to death. Just by our sheer numbers we are over running the place, and leaving scars on the land that will last for generations to come. I know what you're going to say, "I clean up, I do the right thing", well that's awesome and you have my heartfelt thanks. But please go the extra mile and educate your brother, tell him about Leave No Trace, stop and pick up that trash laying on the trail. Sign up for a stewardship project through Friends of Nevada Wilderness, volunteer for a weekend and make a difference for generations to come. I hike or snowshoe in the Wilderness every week. I meet folks from all different races, creeds, social groups, speaking many different languages, but we all are there for the same basic reason we all love the place. I can't do it alone, you can't do it alone and the Forest Service can't do it without us. Let's roll up our sleeves work together and make a difference for the Spring Mountains.

"If future generations are to remember us with gratitude rather than contempt, we must leave them something more than the miracles of technology. We must leave them a glimpse of the world as it was in the beginning, not just after we got through with it."— President Lyndon B. Johnson, on the signing of the Wilderness Act of 1964
